Salzburger Konzertgesellschaft

In the historical centre of Salzburg, amidst Cathedral and Festival Halls, there is Stiftskeller St. Peter, the oldest restaurant in Central Europe. It is first mentioned in 803 on occasion of Charlemagne’s visit.
In this unique and historical setting the Mozart Dinner Concert takes place.

In 1789 in the church of St. Peter monastery, Mozart’s c-minor-mass (KV 427) was presented for the first time. His wife Constanze sang one of the soprano solo parts. Moreover, the Mozart family used to dine at St. Peter´s restaurant. In 1783 on October, 28th “Nannerl” Mozart wrote in her diary: “papa and henry had lunch at St. Peter…made music…rained heavily”

The Music Programme presents highlights of Mozart‘s works like arias and duettos from the operas “Don Giovanni“ KV 527, “Le Nozze di Figaro“ KV 492 and “The Magic Flute“ KV 620. You will enjoy a lively and scenic performance. Further to this our strings present movements from different instrumental works like the serenade “A little night music“, Salzburg Divertimenti and Ouvertures.
